James Preston was born in Birmingham in 1946. His interest in art led
him to study History of Art at the Derby College of Art.
Also a talented musician, James plays with his Rock band at any opportunity
and has sketched the many places he has visited while touring Europe.
James is constantly inspired by the countryside that surrounds him and
captures its beauty in each painting. This has led to James becoming one
of the UK's most highly acclaimed landscape artists.
Over the last couple of years James has also produced a number of contemporary
and semi-abstract pieces, which are being met with great enthusiasm by
collectors of his work.
For the last ten years, James' work has been published by Demontfort Fine
Art and Solomon and Whitehead.
James' work has also been exhibited
in the following galleries:
Halford House, Bourton-on-the-Water.
Wayside Gallery, Duffield, Derbyshire
Mayfield Gallery, Bournemouth
Granby Gallery, Bakewell, Derbyshire
Duffield Art Gallery, Derbyshire
The Wentworth Gallery, Fort Lauderdale, USA
